Territorial Acknowledgement

We recognise that our rodeo comes together amongst the mountains, forests and rivers on the unceded, traditional lands of the Gitxsan Nation and specifically, the Lax Yip, the traditional territory of Wilp Ma-uus.

We honour that it is on this territory that we are able to continue the annual Kispiox Valley Rodeo, a tradition started by the Gitxsan and settlers in 1947.

We hope that as a guest, you will feel a connection to this place, its history and people, and show respect to the past and the future of this land that we have come together on.
